Nomination

I watch you from afar,
I follow you home making sure you get there.
I try not to, but I can't help myself
from climbing up your tree
spying threw your window to get a glimpse of
your soft black hair that shines in the light.
Then really I must stay through the night
to protect you I swear
from the monsters trying to get in and steal you away from me.
I know you think little of me my love in the day,
so I must take this opportunity of the night
to sneak into your window swiftly and quietly
watching for the floorboard, steps away,
that squeaks like a mouse stepped on,
every night I watch you, an angel of despair,
for I know that you could never love me,
so as I sit watching you sleep
caressing your soft, fragile cheek
I think of the moment when you will be
mine
in the soft darkness of forever.
I dream of the red blood contrasting with
your pale white skin, our lives mixing
now forever intertwined, as the knife of fate plunges deep.
But for now I watch you all the time from afar
until the nights and my dreams come alive.
